The Track On 2 Open For Business;
Dumont Breaks Her Maiden

With Century Downs recently closing up shop for the 2018 season, harness racing in Alberta shifted to The Track On 2 in Lacombe on Saturday afternoon.
The facility, formerly known as Alberta Downs, featured an eight-race program which turned out to be a memorable card for driver Marjorie Dumont.
The young pilot celebrated her first lifetime victory thanks to a solid score behind pacing mare Outlaw Fireball.
Dumont got away fourth before grabbing second-over cover on the way to the half. She eventually worked her way to the front with Outlaw Fireball and simply drew away from the others en route to a 2:04.2 triumph.

It’s tradition to bath the horse after the race, but this afternoon it was Dumont who was cooled off thanks to some of her adoring fans.
