2026 Horsemen’s Bookkeeping Hours

Regular Office Hours:

Sunday & Monday: CLOSED

Tuesday, Thursday 7:00 AM – 11:00 PM
 (Working remotely 1:30 PM – 3:00 PM)

Wednesday (Raceday):

• Open: 7:00 AM – 11:00 AM
• 4:35 to 10:00 PM (30min after last post)

Friday(Raceday):

• Open: 7:00 AM – 11:00 AM
• 4:35 to 10:00 PM (30min after last post)



Saturday(Raceday):         

• Open: 7:00 AM – 4:35 PM (30min after last post)
• Racedays: 2 hours prior to Race 1 post time until 30 minutes after the last race post

Purse Account Cheque/Transfer Policy

• Issued on WEDNESDAY AND SATURDAY ONLY

• Requisition Deadline:
  Submit by email or drop-off in person (mailbox) minimum of 1 day prior to race day



• Pick-up Times:
• 1 hour before first post on RACE DAY
• Wednesdays 1:30pm to 2:30pm if we are not racing
• Or during regular office hours on NON Race days

NEW - Online Account Access and Cheque Requisitions

CENTURY racetracks use the InCompass System for Bookkeeping. ASHA has requested that Century Enhance to system to allow Horsemen to access their own account data and request cheques online. The system is accessed through a free account with EquineLine.com. You need a FREE account with EquineLine.com in order to access InCompass Financial Services. Please contact Colleen - Horsemen's Bookkeeper to get the information you require to set up your accounts. Please note: it takes some time to set up, your patience is appreciated. 

Purse Cheque Requisitions

Horse Racing Alberta rules state all purse moneys are held and not available immediately. 

Overnight Races - all overnight purse money is held for 3 days. This money is released at midnight on day 3 and is available on the next bookkeeper business day providing that a requisition is completed and received by the bookkeeper prior to 10am two days before the next race day after the money is released.

Stake Race - all stake purse money is held for 15 days whether elimination or final. This money is released at midnight on day 15 and is available on the next bookkeeper business day providing that a requisition is completed and received by the bookkeeper prior to 10am two days before the next race day after the money is released.

NOTE from The Horsemen's Bookkeeper re: stake payment process

Should you choose to pay via cheque. Your cheque will be deposited into your purse account and then that account will be debited. This way, there is always record of the payment as in the past horsemen have misplaced receipts.

At 12:00 NOON on entry day, a print out of all payments is available for the board of judges, and any horse may be scratched, if payment has not been received.

When entering for a stake where a payment is required, let the race secretary know how you will be making the payment,. There is a box for a note on the online entering "Gaitway" Standardbred Canada system.(ie cheque, pay from account etc.) AND you MUST notify the bookkeeper of the following; Horse name, stake name, account for payment. The Horsemen's Bookkeeper has NO ACCESS to horse entries.

All Cheques MUST be written to ASHA Horsemen's Purse        Account  OR

Email the bookkeeper at hpabookkeeper@gmail.com the following information

          Stake Race Entered
          Horse Name Entered
          Payment Amount
          Account where payment should be debited

Authorized Agent Form

Please remember to have your Authorized Agent forms completed and in the Bookkeepers office to avoid disappointment when picking up cheques.  Please remember the owners signature MUST be witnessed by a commissioner of oaths or racing official.
